Lucchese History
Sam Lucchese Senior and his brothers came to America in 1880. Settling in the bustling Texas town of San Antonio, the brothers saw an enormous need for good quality boots. In 1883 they opened the Lucchese Boot Company and began serving the army community and an ever widening circle of ranch workers. The brothers quickly made a name for themselves as they mixed Italian shoe making know-how with the utility of American cowboy boot styling.
In the 1960's Sam Lucchese Junior studied human anatomy extensively, paying particular attention to posture and the foot. His fascination led him to refine the good old fashioned American work boot into a work of art with a fit like no other on earth. Although this exclusive design demanded more money and skill, Lucchese boots quickly became the boot of choice by presidents and kings, film legends and Wall Street moguls. Quality was a hit. Today Luchese Boots are synonymous with quality, comfort and style. For anyone who appreciates the finer things in life - nothing else compares to a Lucchese boot.
The Making of a Perfect Boot
No other boot fits the human foot like a Lucchese boot, thanks to Lucchese's original designs and meticulous construction. Luchese boots are formed on their exclusive twisted cone lasts. Only the finest grades of leather are selected and then tanned under Lucchese's own processes. Master cutters ensure the best use of each piece of leather. Hand driven lemon wood pegs and meticulous finishing are just some of the steps taken during boot making where no detail is rushed or considered less than critical. Luchese boot designs demand more money, time and skill, but when you slip your foot into a Lucchese boot you will know why they insist on only the finest.
